According to Batuk Deewanji they met in Jaipur when he would go from Jodhpur where he was living to record at the radio station. She was a student of the senior Dagar brothers, Aminuddin and Moinuddin. Deewanji had organized her program once in Bombay when his music circle was doing a series with guru and shagird. She sang before the Dagars, dhrupad, dhammar and thumri and according to Deewanji was very impressive. After marriage she gave up singing and had 8 children. Khansaheb never took her to America. Deewanji would visit their home in Colaba when Khansaheb was back from America- he never took her there- and witnessed many a row between two hot-headed individuals.
